Hollywood Bowl Seating
Thinking of getting tickets this morning to Cher's FINAL?? tour that will be ending at the Hollywood Bowl in April. I've never been to this venue. Don't have much time for research. I do recall hearing "There are no bad seats". Comments? Suggestions? IF I secure tickets, I'll start a new thread on lodging and logistics.

for seating charts.
There may be no bad seats, but be aware that the place is MAMMOTH. Without binoculars from the back seats you'd be lucky to see if anyone at all was on the stage, yet alone be able to distinquish whether that person was Cher or Dame Edna!

Ditto to Patrick's observations. They're all true. The Bowl has a good sound system, so you'll hear everything pretty well (the radio said she's touring with the Village People. WTF?!). However, without binoculars from the General Admission bleachers, you won't see squat. However, having said that, they will probably set up screens to project the stage goings-on.
The whole Bowl experience for me includes packing a picnic basket and a good bottle of wine to have before whatever event we're seeing. Bring a sweater or light jacket, it gets a bit nippy up the hill. And if you can secure parking down the hill with a shuttle up to the Bowl, it's much better than sitting in the stack parking at the Bowl waiting for people to finally get in their damn cars and let you out. I hope you get tickets-- the Hollywood Bowl is something you have to do at least once (and once you do it, you'll do it as often as you can).

Go on line and look at a seating chart. If you can, spring for a box and you're guaranteed good seats. Otherwise, try for the "super seats," which are center, movie theatre style seats just above the last row of boxes. If you opt for seating at the higher levels, you probably won't be able to see down to the stage, but last year they did install screens at all levels to assist with viewing. Good luck!

I'm ready to "hit" Ticketmaster at 10AM. Saw Cher in San Jose on one of her "final" tours. This time she says she's not going to get on the "bus" but will take her shoes off and WALK home. Not my top pick in entertainment but I need to get to LA for a family affair in that time frame and I've never been to the Hollywood Bowl. I'll take the picnic/parking suggestion and enjoy the DIVA!
