Hilton in Santa Fe, NM?

I have tentative plans to stay a couple of nights at the Santa Fe Hilton. Anybody have any experiences here - good or bad?

I stayed at this hotel several years ago for a business meeting. Sleeping rooms are average...although I've heard the suites are nicer. Pool area very nice...lobby has huge fireplace and is decorated in attractive Southwestern furnishings. Within walking distance of downtown so very convenient. Enjoy!

Although I have not stayed there, I did peek inside
to have a look. If you have a choice, stay at the
Inn of the Anasazi. I'm sure there's no comparison.
Both hotels are equidistant from the plaza, however. If you
If you must stay at the Hilton, at least try the
restaurant at the Anasazi - it's excellent! When
we were in Santa Fe, we stayed 3 nights there, and
then checked out and moved to another hotel in
town (not the Hilton) for our remaining 4 nights.
When we arrived at our room, my wife and I looked
at each other, counted up all our money, and
checked back into the Inn of the Anasazi 15 minutes
later! Good luck.

Well, I live in SFe, and if you want to know the truth
the Hilton is a nice Hotel but there is better. I think the
best place with a decent price is the Inn of the
Governors. Great Restraunt(Manana) and beautiful rooms.
However, if you are in SFe for either the last two weeks
of July or the first two weeks of August I have heard of a great
tour of local houses and gardens. YOu should look into it. I
hear it is a lot of fun. If you want to know about local reastruants,
please E-Mail me. I know everything about Santa Fe.

Enjoy your stay!!!!

My husband and I stayed at the Hilton and hated it. The rooms are nothing special. We usually always stay at the Hotel Santa Fe which has really nice rooms, decorated in mauves and it is run by native americans who really go out of their way to make you comfortable; the suites are really nice.
They have a shuttle which will take you to the plaza (it is not far from it) or you can take the short drive and park in a lot or use metered parking. We have also stayed at the Inn at Loretto which is right on the plaza and has recently been redone.

If you are over 65 sign up for Hilton Serior Honors which cuts the cost of the Hilton about 50%25 if rooms are available. At around $70 a night it is OK. Otherwise you can find better places at $140 a night. Rooms there are about in the class of a Best Western. If cost is important, there is no reason to stay in old town if you have a car. What you save in hotel cost will pay for top class meals there which are expensive. The Days Inn is one of the best in the chair--a cut above others--stayed there for $35 night a few months ago, you have to ask for promotional prices.

the Santa Fe Hilton is no great shakes. Rooms are VERY average. It is close to the Plaza but so are other hotels. A reasonably prices alternative is the St. Francis, also within walking distance to the plaza. Rooms are smallish but clean, staff is friendly, it also a historical landmark. Unless you are getting a fantastically low rate at the Hilton - don't bother.
