Highway 98 to Page

Hi all,

Newbie here. Trip planned early July, need information for a few choices. We'll be leaving Monument Valley late one morning and heading to Springdale, Utah to stay a few days. Is highway 98 a good choice to shorten travel time, or to be avoided? Lake Powell will be a drive-by. Trying to choose a stop at either the Horseshoe Bend lookout or doing Antelope Slot Canyon (or both?) before ending in Springdale that night. Would appreciate some expert opinions on this. Thanks.

Hwy 98 is a good road and makes a great short cut. You will drive right by Upper Antelope Slots Canyon and at the most it will take 1 1/2 hours. I think you will be able to squeeze in Horseshoe Bend too. Take hwy 89 south out of Page, AZ to find the turn off. http://www.travelsw.com/southwest-tr.../horseshoe.htm

Hwy 98 is definitely the way to go from MV to Page.

I agree to try and fit both the Antelope Slot Canyon and Horseshoe bend in. If you were pushed for time and could only do one, I'd definitely chose the Antelope Slot Canyon.
