Highland's Inn, Tickle Pink or Monterey Plaza?!!??!?!?!
Each of these Hotels seem to have similiar prices, with the exception of MP, which is about 50.00 less. This is a Mother/Daughter trip, which Hotel is best suited for us? We will be staying 2 nights. Thanks all!!

We had reservations at the Highlands Inn a couple of years ago and cancelled them to stay at the Monterey Plaza...a very good decision for us. We were within walking distance of the aquarium and several good restaurants.
We had a wonderful room overlooking the water and I have nothing but nice things to say about the hotel.

We lived in the Monterey Bay area for 20 years...
If you want to be downtown and within walking distance of restaurants, shops, and the Monterey Wharf -- book yourself at Monterey Plaza.
If you want a little more seclusion and quiet, either the Highlands Inn or Tickle Pink (they're next door to each other) are lovely (with gorgeous views of the rocky coastline).

The Tickle Pink Inn & the Highlands are both very romantic places. I think they are best for a couple's trip. TPI will send you champange, a rose and chocolates, etc.
For a mother/daughter trip, I would go to the Plaza. You will love it there. We took our teenage daughter there and she loved the property. Pay the extra $15 to use the spa facilites and bromine jacuzzis. They views from the rooftop spa are gorgeous, the room are very nice, comfy beds, down comforters and pillows, etc.
The property is walking distance to all the fun shops in Cannery Row. The Ghiradelli chocolate shop is really fun for ice cream sundaes out on the back patio. The aquarium would also be fun for the two of you.
I would go with the Plaza and save the others for another time. ***kim***
