help! yosemite campgrounds full
Hi all, planning a last minute camping trip to yosemte this August and unfortunately there are no camp sites available in the valley. Do any of you have any alternatives? At this point we don't mind having to camp outside yosemite as we promised our sons this.
Many thanks.

Have you tried Housekeeping. It's pretty much camping, you just don't have to pitch your own tent. You can reserve via
www.yosemitepark.com
Vacancies appear on the site everyday as people frequently cancel their reservations. Keep trying.

I have not been there, but my cousins really liked Evergreen Lodge, just outside the park on Hwy 120. There is a variety of lodging there, including a campground. You could book it and also consider checking back for possible cancellations in Yosemite.

There are plenty of camping options inside the park that don't require reservations. That said, you must do a first come/first served basis. In fact, one spot called Camp 4 is right in the valley and no reservations are accepted. We camped at Bridalveil Creek up on Glacier Point Road years ago and we loved the location.
