Help with things to do
We have a 7 night cruise planned with Princess out of Whittier visiting Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan and then Vancouver. 3 nights in Denali before cruise.
I know we want to whale watch in Juneau but was looking for suggestions on other ports. We do have a 6 hour tour in Denali included. I have done the whitewater rafting on the river before which was fun in Denali. We love nature but aren't big hikers.

In Skagway we did the train which I enjoyed, Juneau we whale watched- we got to see whales "bubble net feeding" multiple times. Most incredible thing I have ever seen. Youtube it and you will see. In Ketchican we did a float plane excursion- loved it too. There isn't much I didn't love. Enjoy! We booked all our excursions through the cruise line. Nice to have everything done before we went and tickets in our room.

Welcome to Fodor's!
My suggestions, for what they're worth.
Skagway: Rent a car (Avis is the only multinational) and drive up into the Yukon. The drive is very scenic and easy. I'd recommend stopping at the tiny subarctic desert just outside Carcross, stop at Emerald Lake for a snapshot or two, then stop at the Robinson Roadhouse ghost town, which you'll probably have all to yourselves, aside from a large number of rather angry marmots, whose home turf you'll be invading. Robinson Roadhouse

Ketchikan - Ship's tour ($$) or city bus ($2) to Totem Bight State Park. Walk around the rain forest, see the totem poles and Tlingit longhouse, just drink in the environment. And/or, tour or bus to Saxman, a Tlingit village south of town. More totem poles, but also probably some canned shows for the tourists. Alternatively, ($$$$) do a floatplane flight to Misty Fjords National Park.
