Ibuprofen is a good idea. So is moleskin for hot spots and blisters!

One important tip, due to the crowds in town, go very early to Arches. Drive straight through up to the top of the park and start with the Devils Garden hikes. This parking lot fills early.

Finding parking at the rest of the sights is easier, although the lot at Wolf Ranch for Delicate Arch gets overfilled too but later.

I've packed a first aid kit to take with us on our hikes and moleskin and bandaids are definitely included! Jeep week is going to be packed so we're going expecting crowds. We hope to be out hiking no later than 7:30am every day.

6 more days! Getting things set aside to pack. We so need this vacation!

Once you get to the end of the hike to Double O arch, there is an option to return as you entered, or a faint unmaintained 2.2 mile trail to the east (right) that loops back to near Landscape arch.

Oh no Normal! I was afraid of this when your husband insisted your could do a mountain bike ride on you own....I hope that's not what happened.

Dayle, unfortunately that is what happened. Coming down slick rock too fast and I hit the front brake and flipped over the handle bars and landed on my head/face. Thank God for the helmet! I could've broken my neck but walked away with whiplash, slight concussion and spitting out some teeth. Root canal, crowns and veneers in my near future. The bruising will go away and the whiplash and concussion have healed.

A word of warning...do not ask a 20 something year old young man what they consider to be a beginner bike trail! LOL! Their opinion is not the same as for a 56 year old first time biker's opinion!

Having said that, up until the spill, it was a heck of a ride and a lot of fun!

I'm so sorry! Moab's mountain biking is mostly very technical. There are some easy beginners trails, but.....

I have a good friend who was pretty experienced when she did the exact same thing. Took quite a while to heal. Yes, a new bridge for the front teeth, plastic surgery to repair a huge lip cut, etc.

I hope you had some fun with the other activities before the crash.

The trip was wonderful until the last day! So many wonderful memories!
