Help with Boston hotel choice today!
I just found these great rates for the following hotels. Can anyone help me make this decision? We don't care about having a huge room--we just want something close to the T, close to a few major attractions and the Freedom trail, and safe. Help!
Omni Parker House--$139/night
Boston Park Plaza--$139/night
Tremont Boston--$117/night
This is for a trip next week, so I need some quick advice!

I've stayed at the Omni Parker House for the $139 rate. The rooms are teeny tiny but since you have said you don't care about the room, I would say that the Omni Parker house is a good deal. The hotel is on the Freedom Trail and in walking distance of many attractions. I can't remember if we were close to T-stop.

The Omni Parker House is about a block from the Park Street T station. The Park Plaza is more convenient to Back Bay/Newbury Street, and also to the Arlington T station. Both are excellent locations for touring Boston. The Tremont is in the theater district. Not a bad location, but perhaps not quite as convenient as the first two choices (two blocks to the Boylston T). All are safe. All are close to major attractions, restaurants, etc. Welcome to Boston!

No offense sktraveler, but I don't think those rates for next week are all that great. You could go to priceline or hotwire and get MUCH better prices for the highest level hotel they have next week for $20 - 50 less per night. Also may want to check last minute specials from travelocity or travelzoo.

The Parker House is right on the Freedom Trail, as a previous poster said. You're right at the Park Street T station, which has the advantage of being the junction of the green line and the red line trains. The red line takes you to Cambridge if you want to go there on your trip. The Parker House is right across the street from Old City Hall, and other Freedom Trail sights (sites?) are right around the corner or down the street.
The Park Plaza might be in a prettier location, and being in the Back Bay/Newbury Street vicinity would still be quite central--you'd be walking distance to theaters, and to the Public Garden, and you'd be right on the green line, which takes you in to Park Street (which would still be walkable), to the Government Center/Faneuil Hall area, out to the Museum of Fine Arts, and to Symphony Hall. You'd also be in the vicinity of the Duck Tours.
For a historic flavor, I guess I'd choose the Parker. Otherwise, I'd say it's a tossup.
Hope this helps!
