Help us get from Brooklyn, NY to Boothbay Harbor, Maine

We're travelling to Maine next week for the first time. Would greatly appreciate any driving tips you might have, i.e, estimated total driving time, best route to take, or any other tips you might have for us while we're there.

Thanks so much,

Pat C.

could be at least 8 hrs., maybe 10 if you hit traffic. I would take 84 to 90 to 95.

Take 95north , but avoid Boston City traffic by going around Boston (take the 495N) and then hooking back up to 95 North afterwards.

In Maine, stay on 95 to Brunswick and then hook up to Route 1 to Wiscasset, follow the signs down to Boothbay. In Boothbay, the Ice Cream Factory has a great brownie fudge sundae, and Andrew's Harborside has good food. Robinson's Wharf is a great no-frills place for lobster.

Trip is about 380 miles and should take around 7 hours if you don't get hung up getting out of the city. For good directions go to www.freetrip.com
