We're looking for a nice hotel that is within walking distance to Safeco Field. We will be in the city mid-week and attending a mariners game and we would like to find a very nice place so we can walk. Also, are there any hotels (within walking distance) that offer room and game tickets? Are there any web sites that might list mid-week special prices on rooms for this area? My email is included. I suppose this depends on what you call walking distance. Safeco Field is probably a mile and a half at least from the majority of decent hotels in the downtown area - it's in an industrial/warehouse/train tracks area around half a mile south of Pioneer Square. There is free downtown bus service to within a third of a mile or so of the stadium, so your walking range can be added on the other end if you like.
As far as room + ticket packages are concerned, the West Coast Grand Hotel on 5th Ave. has an arrangement with something called Sportsworld Tours for hotel and ticket packages, http://www.sportsworldtours.com/

Thank you. Will check with them right now. Any one else have others I should check? Someone said the Htel Monaco? Are they close and is it nice? We'd just like to be as close as we possibly can so we don't have to drive.

I would say that the Alexis is the closest nice hotel to Safeco. It's on First Avenue, a few blocks north of Pioneer Square, so it's probably not more than a 10-15 minute walk down First to Safeco. I walk to Safeco from downtown all the time, by the way; it's not far at all if you like to walk.

In the summer, there really isn't much distinction between mid-week and weekend rates; it's all pretty much high season!

You can get your tickets directly from the Mariners website (through Ticketmaster) or any of the good hotels have concierges who can help you get good seats.

I agree that the Alexis is probably your best bet as far as distance and accomodations.
The Hotel Monaco is nice but it is about 6-8 blocks farther away from Safeco than the Alexis.

Try the painted table if you do stay at the Alexis.
