My friend got bitten on the face when she was doing work in her garden and I had them on my back and stomach..lying in that damn hammock!
They manage to get on people pretty easily and they can munch on you anywhere!
Nail polish works...believe the Old Wives

EATEN ALIVE BY MOSQUITOES? BUGS?
Mosquitoes or bugs, I was soothed (itches like crazy...almost scratched till sore..)
BUT I applied this wonderful lotion i bought from www.bloodguardrepellent.com
yeah..WWW.BLOODGUARDREPELLENT.COM
Check it out. Mozzies or bugs, it did me good and healed my rashes too (from dirt/heat/sweat).
Travel costs money and better be well prepared. One way is to be well armed with this lotion (cool feel and very nice 'feel-alive' frangrance').
Good lotions and all-natural ones like BLOODGUARD REPELLENT makes the expensive or cheap trips worth it. helps repel off potentially disease-carrying mozzies/chiggers/bugs.
Got extra bottles? Sell to the tourist traveller who is suffering- give him relief and he/she will be thanking and blessing you for the great holiday (freed from pests) they had.
FUNNY..one has to smell bad or CHEMICAL to keep mozzis away. With BloodGuard repellent, you smell good and your beloved won't stop clinging to you!

Where was the advertising when I really needed it, LOL!
GoT, I never found out exactly what it was. All I know is that the itching lasted a good 10 days and I still have bite marks. I think it is safe to say they were not bed bugs.
Last October I was bit by something at the NY Botanical Gardens -- it swelled up really bad and I still have evidence of the bite marks 8 months later.
Sorry Scarlett, I wasn't brave enough to put nail polish on any of the bites -- I scratched too much and was afraid of the burn!
From now own, I plan to travel with bug repellent as it is clear that I experience rather substantial allergic reactions to bug bites (bee stings send me to the ER). Or maybe I should invest in a beekeepers uniform, lol.

Once when I was visiting in Jacksonville, I was badly bitten by something called , I think, yellow flies- I had never heard of them, but the bites were even worse than chigger bites. They itched terribly and gave me scars that lasted for a year.
I love Florida, but I don't like the bugs!

I didn't read through all the suggestions, but the one I use the most on ant and mosquitoe bites is something called 'After Bite'. It comes in a little wand type container (alittle wider than a pencil), and you dab some on each bite. Usually one or two reps of this and it no longer itches. By the way, the main ingredient is ammonia...so I have actually taken a swab and achieved the same results (just more smelly).

Mosquitoes and blood-sucking bugs did not bite me no more.
Goodfriend here have not been bitten and me and friends have not got bitten when we used the BloodGuard lotion.
Sure ... lots of remedies around and others can keep on recommending this and that but still get bitten
Goodfriend here shared a remedy , one that works ... SO FAR, lotion works very well;
AM HAPPY undisturbed in garden, indoors or TRAVELING (to Asia and Northern Europe soon) 6 bottles of BloodGuard Repellent.
