Help Celebrate Husband's 50th in Las Vegas

This year my husband turns 50 and we will be going to Las Vegas in Oct. to celebrate with our best friends. Any ideas what wonderful, weird, wacky, fun thing I could organize to help him celebrate in style? Thanks.

Renew your wedding vows at the Graceland Wedding Chapel in front of an Elvis impersonator! (This has been MY dream for years, but my own dear husband has always refused to cooperate.)

Thanks Emily for the idea - that would be fun - especially since the friends we will be going with got married there and we stood up for them. Any idea how I can find out which chapel has an Elvis impersonator on staff?

Hey, sounds like a great idea to me. You want it memorable, that oughta do it! And that will take what, a total of 20 minutes? The rest of the time you can make other memories! Have fun!

Would I mislead a fellow Fodorite? Not so! You can check out their website at www.gracelandchapel.com. You can also ask for brochures. They seemed like very pleasant people when I called them.

Renewing your vows would be a great idea and almost all the chapels in LV have Elvis impersonators. What we did was have Elvis conduct the ceremony. I would suggest is you seek suggestions on lvol.com. Board members are very nice and knowledgeable. Another idea would be to take a blimp ride at night over the strip. Again, post the question on lvol.com. Good luck.

A blimp ride? Do they really do that? A bunch of us are going to LV next year for MY 40th, and that sounds like something definitely different! How much does something like that cost, how long does it last, how many people can go, etc.???
