Helicopter tour Maui

Can anyone tell me whether a helicopter tour of Maui is worth the money? The prices are pretty steep for a 45-60 minute ride, however, we're only going to be there for a short time. We'd like to see the less accessible parts of the island, but won't be able to fit the drive (i.e. road to Hana) into our schedule. Thanks!

It's only worth it if you take out the Kalashnikov option. That way you get to take an AK-47 with you & 500 rounds of Glasers. The idea being to blow as many Travel Agents to pieces as possible.

Jen,
My wife and I thought it was worth the money! We had more time than you when we did the heli-trek. We found a discount coupon in Lahaina and flew with Hawaii Helicopters. First we
drove our rental car to the airport where we boarded a custom van with driver/guide..he was great! The van took us on the road to Hana where we enjoyed lunch..then off to the helipad and our flight over the beautiful island. At the end of the flight..back at the airport you can purchase a video recording of your flight, including shots of yourself inside the copter
( to prove to your friends you really did take the flight ). You may never get the chance to get back to Maui so
I would "go for it"!

I forgot to mention that the "shots of youself inside the 'copter" were taken by M16's which are not, in fact, a camera but a rifle, so unfortunately I appear to be dead ( as opposed to my usual Brain Dead ).

It's a rip off. You spend more time on the ground than in the air. and you get airsick......
