Best is a tough question to answer. If you want the Magnum PI experience zooming up and down canyons on the Na Pali coast, that could be one company. If on the other hand you want to see the sights in relative comfort that might be another. My experience was with Air Kauai, and we were very pleased. Wife was anxious before, and at the end very pleased with the trip. Don't bother booking until you get there. Check out the offers from the timeshare programs for 1/2 half deals. Enjoy Kauai!!!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - InterIsland Helicopters probably gives the most unique and memorable tours for our money. We've flown with them every time. What makes them special is that they fly with the doors OFF, so that you get a really unobstructed view, and they seat only 4 passengers, so there's no such thing as a bad seat. In addition, they offer breathtaking waterfall picnic tour in which they set down the chopper at a private and remote waterfall and provide a picnic lunch, then continue on with the full tour of the island. This is really not to be missed, and though pricey (about $225 p/p), it's so worth it! The other company I always hear good things about is Jack Harter. Whichever you choose, enjoy the views (no rhyme intended!).

Magot,
Do you have a number or an web address for Interisland? I am very interested in the tour w/lunch, but can't find them listed on the web? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Aloha Tracey, "Magot"?
Mrs Kal and I have had the pleasure of meeting our Kauai-via Jersey-via Chicago buddy, Margot, and she's no "magot" (he he).

Here's the site for I-Island.
http://www.hawaiian.net/~interisland/index.html

We prefer Harter but this "waterfall adventure" looks interesting so, in 129 more days we may try it.
Mahalo,
Kal

Margot: I'm glad to see your recommendation for Inter Island because my husband and I are travelling to Hawaii in mid-October and we have booked the waterfall lunch tour with Inter Island. It sounds very exciting and we're looking forward to it. How bad are the bugs at the waterfall?

Aloha, fellow Kauai fans!

As to Rita's question about bugs at the waterfall, I would defintely bring repellant along, because if memory serves, bugs were prevalent. However, do NOT let this deter you from taking that ride, because it is positively awesome! Enjoy!!!

Margot

P.S. Thanks, Kal for setting the record straight on my name and also for the kind words - right back to ya, buddy!
