I am thirty something and live in South Florida. I don't think it can get much hotter. We all seems to survive. Just drink lots of water and stay hydrated...you will be fine.

Yes--heat stroke can happen to all ages. Drink lots of water and get out of the sun when you can. Even standing in the shadow of a street pole can cut the heat by 10 or so degrees.

No, DND, anyone can get heat stroke. A good friend of mine got in her early 30's. Make sure to drink plenty of water, more than the 8 glass recommendation, wear a hat, avoid the intense sun between 10 and 2, use sunscreen, watching drinking alchohol as it dehydrates you. Taking sensible precautions will enable, excercising early in the am or at night. Taking sensible precautions will enable you to have a great trip!

A friend of mine got it recently here in the Bay area and she's 47! She wasn't paying attention during our last terrible heat wave, her son was graduating from high school, and we don't have a lot of air conditioning. She collapsed at the graduation ceremony and had to be taken by the paramedics to a hospital. Yesterday it was 120 in Death Valley and that's why we Californians warn people all the time about going there in summer, but most people think, as you did, that heat stroke is only old people and young kids. Be careful.
