Hearst Castle? Go now Before the Govinator closes it!

To address California's $14 billion state budget shortfall--Arnold has recommeded closing numerous state parks including Hearst Castle, Huntington State Beach and others.

Yes I better get myself there soon, as I keep saying "someday". I'm less than 4 hours away!

And Armstrong Redwoods State Park, one of those that Fodorites often recommend to people to visit when near Healdsburg and the Wine Country.

It is terrible for residents as well as travelers. California Fodorites, email your state assembly people ASAP.

(You can find their office numbers in the phone book).

Travelers, feel free to email my assembly member to tell him how this will impact your trip!

He is [email protected]

(and no, he is not Jay Leno!)
(and when I preview, that address shows up twice, but it is meant to show up only once).

Sorry if this violates board terms. If it does, then you can move it to the Lounge, but I just don't want this to happen, for anyone!

He's threatening. This will never happen. He just wants you to vote for those crummy propositions on the Feb 5 ballot. 94, 95, 96, 97.

The news reports I have read speak of possibly closing San Simeon Park, but not Hearst Castle itself, which I think is a pretty big money-maker.

I have read that San Simeon would be closed. I can't imagine closing Hearst Castle - just due to the # of people who go there and the money it brings in.
