Hawaii's AOA card

Is the AOA card for hawaii's events and resturants worthwhile?
We are going to be in Oahu and Maui for our trip.

Yes

The AOA card will save you money, especially in Maui. Also there are certain activites that are half off.

Would someone please describe the AOA card? Is it the same idea as The Entertainment Book? We do not think The "E" book is worth the cost. Thanks

The AOA card is something you purchase for $30 and it is like an Entertainment card. It entitles you to discounts on many things.

Hi J.B., I cheated and copy some info from a previous post that should answer your question.
By the way a Fodors search under Hawaii for "gold card" will yield lots of info.

Message: Hi Melisa, the AOA(Activity Owners Association)Gold Card is available for use on Maui only.It is a discount card good for discounts on most activities on Maui and discounts range from 10 to 25%,while in Maui if you call their office you may get even larger discounts as they sometimes have daily specials. The discounts are on mostly everything from Helicopter rides to bicycle tours anf Luaus. The card must be obtained BEFORE one arrives on Maui, the cost is $20 and will cover discounts on up to 4 people. If you are interested in a card the toll free number is 800-398-9698.

I found the AOA card made you feel like you could only do their activities and thus feeling forced to use it.

Last year I bought an AOA card and did get my money's worth plus more. Perhaps they've expanded since it first came out but they do have discounts on Maui, Oahu, and the Big Island. Although, by far the most discounts are on Maui. Look at their web site and decide for yourself if you are interested in the companies which give the discounts before you buy. I would recommend it.
