Unless you are staying in Koeke on Kauai or upcountry on Maui, the lowest it will get is probably low 70's.

Unless it's for looks, you really could wear shorts and tee shirts any time of the day or night and be very comfortable.

I usually take a wrap with me when I go out at night. And we have evening rain you might wish you had something light. Last night I thought it was rather cool and both my husband I wore long pants when we went out last night. I rarely wear pants--usually dresses and skirts.

The nighttime temps may not dip much below 70, but sometimes it feels cooler to me, especially closer to the water. A light wrap (pashmina, pareo, etc) will do you just fine, except if you shop at the Safeway in Kihei. I bundle up for that.

I don't know that I have ever worn a sweater, unless I am upcountry. But one suggestion is to buy a nice pareo when you get here and carry that at night. They are perfect for wrapping up in for a late night beach stroll.

Maui, I know you mentioned it before, so I had to when you mentioned Safeway. I'll be there soon and will pay particular attention to the temperature!

Safeway being cold, LOL, because here in Sacramento Valley it gets soooo hot. So of course than one dresses for it. Than walk into the local Safeway and it is sooo cold by the time you are paying for the purchases you are shivering. Sometimes I have cut a shopping trip short because it is so cold.

But they always have a sign on the door stating that lights are dimmed because of the energy crises.

Have never figured this out!
