HAWAII OR CARIBBEAN IN AUGUST ???
In the month of August are better the Hawaii or the Caribbean ?
I search for wonderful beaches, very beautiful hotel and pleasant weather.
Are there also to Hawaii the wonderful beaches white and soft that there are to the Caribbean ?
And where are the most beautiful beaches (white and soft) of the Hawaii ??

Hawaii versus Caribbean? Hawaii hands down in my book. The weather is consistent and pleasant (compared to most Caribbean destinations), better hotels (among the best in all the world), great restaurants, more to do per island than on most Caribbean islands, no racial tensions, very little crime, on and on. Can't say, however, that I've ever been to a Hawaiian beach with sand as soft and white as at some beaches in the Caribbean (St. John's Trunk Bay is tops for me).
Not that the beaches in Hawaii are second rate. Some are spectacular. Just not the powdery sand it sounds like you're referring to. Beaches in Wailea and Kapalua and Waikiki and Poipu are great.
My favorite place in the Western Hemisphere to go and relax is Wailea. You just can't beat the Four Seasons and Grand Wailea for "the total package".

If money is really no option, you can't beat the scenery in Hawaii. But the Caribbean has an amazing array of out of the way places. Harbour Island, for example, on the Northern tip of the Bahamian Island of Eleuthera, is a georgeous little place with small-scale resorts (none of the overdevelopment that made Nassau a nightmare) and an amazing pink-sand beach (little bits of disintegrated coral in the sand give it a slightly pinkish hue). It's a real town, too, not just a tourist spot, so the locals are great.
Another option is St. John in the Virgin Islands, a well-preserved and protected place for a laid back getaway.
But the best might be Port Antonio in Jamaica, a former getaway for an elite group of notables including Errol Flynn, Noel Coward, et al. It's on the lush, relatively untouristed northeast coast of the island, and fully-staffed vacation villas rent for amazingly reasonable rates (some even come with a boat for your own use).
have fun.

My wife and I contemplated on this very issue for our honeymoon last August. We chose Kauai and Maui primarily for two reasons. 1. Travel from the west coast was easier. 2. The probability of hurricanes seemed much greater in the carribean. We definetitly felt we made the proper choice. I can't even describe in words the beauty of Kauai. I found the beaches on the north shore very placid at that time of year. I would stay there in August. On Maui we stayed at the Kapalua Bay Hotel. The beach there was the most senic beach I've seen yet and the snorkeling there was terrific. August is a very popular time for families to take vacation. Very noticable in the Kaanapali area of Maui. Glad we chose not to stay there. We found the weather not as humid as the Carribean and the trade winds keep the temerature confortable.
Hawaii gets my vote.
