Curmudgeon, as I mentioned WAY UP in one of my posts, friends stayed at Carson's, and they were very happy there. It's hard, isn't it, to recommend lodging because everybody has their own idea of what's comfy, cozy, worn, noisy, etc.? Kilauea Lodge was fabulous when we were there.......... and you always hope a place has stayed the way it was.

My husband and I stayed at Carsons on our honeymoon and then again the next year. We were in a great cabin (I think Koa) and we had a jacguzzi in the back yard. We were only there one night and needed two nights to see everything. They have really nice breakfast buffets. The owners Brenda Carson and husband (forget his name) were very helpful and nice. Also the Kilueua Lodge (sorry about spelling)Restaurant is very good.

Thanks for the input. I will look at the suggestions and make a call. I am sure that they are all really nice and it is just a matter of individual choice. Better to know that, than to have people say that they have heard a place is terrible and avoid it at all costs. Thanks to all.
