Hawaii- B&B's

We are planning a honeymoon in Hawaii. We are most likely going to stay 5 days each on Maui, Kauai, and the BI. We will probably leave Kauai for the end of the trip and use the week to relax a bit. We are definately the adventurous type though, we love hiking, snorkelling, exploring, and local culture. We thought that a B&B might be great for us. Does anyone have any suggestions for these islands? We just want a nice clean place that we can relax at, it doesn't have to be too fancy. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

This site has an extensive list of accommodations for all islands -- B&Bs, condos, cottages, houses, hotels, etc.:

Sounds like you'd like the Wild Ginger Inn in Hilo. It is the worker's quarters of an old sugar plantation. Each room is unique, and the beds are very comfy! www.wildgingerinn.com

We stay here to hike and tour the Volcano National Park on the BI. http://www.volcanoretreat.com/ We loved this place, close to the park but you'd never know it.

My girlfriend and I stayed in a duplex upland on the BI at Wiapio (SP?) where they filmed Water World. I loved it. It was on a dead end street over looking the ocean so it was very quiet. At night it was so black the stars were just amazing and it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. There were horses grazing in the field next door. We had the top unit. It was two bedroom, very clean, had a resident gecko living up in the rafters..he would drop "little presents" on to the kitchen counter..LOL I also liked it because it was cool at night, great for sleeping under the comforter. I'll ask my girl friend if she still has the name of the people she booked it through. Perhaps you would want to be closer to the ocean. What I mean by that is, even though we were overlooking the ocean, we were way above it so there was no beach to walk to. But anyway, I just loved this place.
