Yep, Dorf was funny! Well, no, it was hilarious!
I want in on the Hawaii Kountdown, but I can't count that high so........
arrive on The Big Island on March 25th and on Kauai on March 29th...have to come back home on April 11th!
Just now hung up the phone..we are gonna stay 4 days at The Beachboy or whatever it is called. Right there behind Coconut Marketplace where HukiLau Lanai is!!
So, how come y'all are having a Chicago GTG and didn't invite any of us?

I've been 4 times although it's been since 2002 for me. It's hard to hit those times when airfare is affordable to HI. Late April/ May and mid Sept. to mid Nov. seem to be better. But It's hard for me to get away in those times, LOL. I'm on the west coast too Quackerbacker.

i'2......what do you mean by Hawaii Kountdown?? Are you referring to the Krazy Kal Kahuna Komplicated Kauai Kountdown Kontraption? Only Kommitted Kauai Kommandos & Komrades have access. I am not sure that you Kualify since you are going to the BI first. But, you might ask the Klock Keeper for a Key.

Hi Dawn,
I'm going to Hawaii in August and I've also noticed a little less activity than usual. Maybe it's the nice summer weather....or maybe it's just because I'm counting the seconds til this trip and am completely obsessed with reading anything I can about Oahu and BI

I WISH I was in HI, but I am here, in glorious Wisconsin. But I can't complain, I did get to Kauai in Jan. and in two weeks we are off to England until the end of August! I have side trips planned to Dublin and Berlin.
In the meantime though, I am outside enjoying a rather perfect (low 70s) summer.

Klub?....Klub??? What klub???:-" I heard that the K9 Klub was ruled illeagal by the powers that be at Fodor's, and being involved in any Klub activity is grounds to have ones passport konfiscated for up to a year. After January you can't get to Kauai without your passport and shots.

quackerbacker that's a nice name anyway we have found just the opposite to be true for us. We got back early May from our third trip to the islands and just found out we're probably going back next year for our daughter's wedding. We found a place on Kauai for $85 a night across the road from the ocean. On Oahu the last two times stayed at the Royal Grove for $62 a night two blocks from the beach. I haven't been able to find anything like that in Ft. Lauderdale or San Diego, but still like them both. Our big expense is the airfare whether gas price is up or down.

AnnMarie_C,
is hawaii a good destination for christmas and new years? i guess i thought it was a summer destination, and not a fall/winter spot. i am looking for a christmas location for my exptended family, youngest aged 11 oldest aged 72 w/asthma, with teen and adult hikers and adventurists in between. there are only 6 of us. this christmas, we want to forgo any gifts and travel. i was wondering about hawaiian islands. tell about the season as you found it...
thanks, corwin

aren't you on the east coast and wouldn't it be easier to go to the Caribbean? Reading your post on the 4th of July, I think your a little disingenuine. Sorry, but you don't seem very serious about the Hawaii inquiry or I'd be more helpful. Brian
