mark--
i think u posted this query earlier, w/ no responses. i didn't respond bc my sister was a cast member for 2 years, so my opinion is biased, but having seen 'ulalena 7 times, i really do recommend it. the show always gets partial or full standing ovations, not only for the original music, singing, acrobatics and hula and contemporary choreography, but bc the storyline is ultimately emotional, and the finale is beautiful. the majority of the audience are tourists, but it's an attraction maui residents take their visitors to as well. if u have a chance, go.
u can find some more opinions if u do a search under 'ulalena' (note spelling) on this site. and btw, u can sometimes find discount coupons in brochures, hotel materials or even in ur rental car, as i did.
finally, for a glimpse of the storyline, staging and costuming, ck out www.ulalena.com or www.mauitheatre.com

Yes, that's me! Welcome home--I heard you were done with your stint in Asia. Please tell Lori I said hi, too! I still see the other Melissa--they just had their reunion a few weeks ago. I think I heard your name in conversation a couple of weeks ago, as well.....The upcoming Sake Festival at the end of the month here in Honolulu?
Anyway, I won't encroach too much text on someone else's thread. Good to "hear" from you!
