Has anyone been to the restaurant, Vinyl in NYC
Has anyone been to the restaurant, Vinyl, in NYC at 9th Avenue and 51st Street? I read about it on line and might decide to eat there for a quick casual dinner when we go in October. I was wondering if anyone here has actually eaten there?

I believe it's spelled VYNL.
Yes, I've eaten there several times. It has the look of a slightly fancier diner or a Denny's -- with booths and plain formica table tops, but some fun memorabilia. Their theme restrooms are a hoot.
It's inexpensive like a diner, but the food is really good. I think they have some of the best roast chicken in the city. Lots of good comfort food. The only negative I can think of is that one time the music was so loud we couldn't hear ourselves think. We asked about it, and the waitress gave some story about how they aren't allowed to "play" with the volume -- it's permanently set. But other times it was fine.
