Has anyone been to Emeril's in Orlando?

My husband, 14 year old son and I are going to Orlando at the end of June. My husband will be celebrating a milestone birthday and I want it to be special. I made reservations at Emeril's. Is this a good choice? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Haven't been there, but it got a great review a while back in our local paper, the St. Petersburg Times (www.sptimes.com). The food critic is pretty reliable (he's much tougher on the more expensive places), said it was worth the drive AND the pricetag. Perhaps you could find the review on their website...

Enjoy!

Yes, I was there last year (without making a reservation, but that's another story).
We went prepared to hate it, figuring that it would be all hype and no substance, but we were pleasantly suprised. The food was very good, and the service was excellent. You probably know it's quite expensive, but I thought I should mention it.
Ask your waiter if your son can autograph a wine cork for their wall of corks -- the kid might get a kick out of thinking that he'll be forever remembered at Emeril's. Have fun! You're going to like it.

Marilyn

Went there last year for anniversary and absolutely loved it. It was everything we expected to be. The food was excellent but the service was first class all the way (thought it was humorous how someone was always there to remove bread crumbs from table) Would have gone back this year but waited to long to make reservations. This year going to Disneys California Grill if anyone has any info on this rest. Enjoy

This is intersting and encouraging to read. I have friends who went to the Emeril's in Las Vegas a few years ago and were terribly disappointed in both the food and service. It's encouraging to read that the quality is what one might hope for in at least some of their locations.

I had lunch there last year and it was wonderful (although a bit pricey). I have eaten at several of his restaurants and had only one mediocre /fair dinning experience and that was at the one in Vegas.

Thanks, everyone! Sounds like it will be an enjoyable place to celebrate my husband's birthday!

Looking forward to it!
