Hapuna Prince or King Kamehameha

I KNOW there is no comparison, but here's my question - originally I booked 2 nights at the Hapuna on Hotwire for $177/night, which I thought was a good deal, and one night before flying home, at the King Kamehameha because I thought we'd end up spending the last day wandering around Kona and it was closer (a bit) to the airport.

Now I'm wondering if it is worth it to simply stay the 3rd night at the Hapuna because I am afraid the King K. will be too much of a letdown after the Prince. Can get a room for the last night for $199.

What would you do? Is it worth it to throw away the $100 spent on the King K (also on Hotwire) and spend another $200 to spend the last night at the Prince? Doesn't seem like it, but I've love some input. My husband and I are waffling about it.

We have 7 nights at a cottage near Poipu Beach and will be finishing up 10 days in the islands with the 3 nights on the Big Island.

Thanks

why not do this: spend the whole last day at hapuna beach prince. store your bags, even have dinner there and, at the last possible moment, leave and "just sleep" at the king. seems a better option than flushing the $100.
if you CAN get your $$ back from the king, then do and stay all three nights at hapuna...just 2 cents.

Nope, can't get the $$ back from the King, but your idea is a good one. Thanks !

Why would you want to do that? It's only 25 minutes from Hapuna to the airport and Kona is a dump. We just spent a week at Chrismas at the Hapuna and drove the whole island. Trust me, Kona is not as charming as it was years ago.

To me the move would be a pain and a let down.
