Hampton Inns in Alexandria VA

Will be traveling to Alexandria in November for a wedding. I like staying at Hampton Inns. The wedding will be in Falls Church and the reception at Mt. Vernon. Can anyone tell me if the Hampton Inn Alexandria Old Town South located on Richmond Hwy. would be a good choice? Thank you for any advice you can offer

It's a hike to Falls Church but closer to Mt. Vernon.

If you're going to stay a couple of extra days before/after the wedding, I would opt for the Hampton Inn in Old Town King Street. This is really a nice Hampton Inn.

Thanks Budman. I was looking at the Hampton on King St. but, unfortunately we will probably only be there for two nights. Would like to stay longer but finances will not allow.

I would stay at the King Street one if it were me. The Richmond Hwy one is too close to all the construction in the area on the Woodrow Wilson new bridge/interchange.

Hi Budman. How about the Hampton Inn on Leesburg Pike?

The Hampton Inn on Leesburg Pike will put you much closer to the wedding in Falls Church. The rates are likely to be somewhat cheaper than the King St/Old Town HI and parking is free. The location isn't as charming at King St. It's off of a large urban commercial road but the property itself is very nice and there are no noise issues.

I would opt for the Leesburg Pike HI since budget is an issue and you're not staying long enough to take advantage of the King St HI's proximity to Old Town Alexandria. It is farther away from Mt. Vernon, but surely there will be some sort of caravan from the wedding to the reception.

As a side note, King Street-Route 7-Leesburg Pike-West Broad St. are all the same road.

I agree with Budman that the HI on Richmond Hway is a miss.

Thanks obxgirl. I would love to stay at the HI OT but there is a budget issue. We probably won't be spending that much time in the hotel. I just like a clean place in a nice area. We will be driving but I think the bride and groom are going to try and provide a shuttle for the wedding and reception. Thanks again.

I guess that's all the information I really need. I was thinking about asking about restaurants but I'm sure the bride and groom will be able to help there. Thanks so much.

Smoky, There are lots of options...what's your preferred cuisine and price range?
