We will be at Coconut Grove for a couple days in June and my daughter wants to go to South Beach to "lay out" - can you park anywhere for an afternoon?????

Did you change hotels?! Yes, you can find parking, both in garages and on side streets. It is there, not free, but there.

No actually we will be down 3 different times this summer for daughter to attend a dance program. Will be staying in 3 different hotels in July and Aug.

You're not likely to find parking on the street unless you look two blocks or so off Ocean Avenue, over toward Washington, etc., parallel to Ocean. And you're likely to have better luck the farther you are from the large hotels starting where Ocean ends. We were there for a week two months ago, so our information isn't very dated, and given the heavy traffic volume in SoBe, it's hard to imagine there's less intensity now than then. Good luck.

There is a public lot on or around 14th and there is a bunch of metered street parking near the Holiday Inn on 21st or 22nd.

The parking garage Go is thinking of is on 13th between Collins and Ocean (behind the-- you guessed it-- Cardozo!). There is a larger one on 7th between Collins and Washington. Both of these are a short jaunt to the beach. There are lots here and there, and all those streets have metered spots. Getting one can be tough, however.
