I agree with fmpden--not everyone skis every year and in the west--even in their thirties. AND yes, they are young and will catch up quickly. And no one is throwing off on anyone-- they can make their own minds up once there, etc. AND they can find plenty of terrain if indeed they want to do the blacks.
The OP wants to go to Colorado--not Jackson Hole (bigger more expert mountain, higher price getting there) or Aspen--also more expert, higher price once there.
To be real honest, skiergirl, your post sounded more like "I am really a good skier and look where I went".
Take the "static" out of this post--fur coats, etc.--and help the guy with Breck.

First of all, thanks to everyone for their responses and sorry for any contentious debate I generated. I appreciate everyone’s input. For the record, a bit of age and weight have certainly started to settle in, but we still consider ourselves studs. As for rust, most of us are still skiing every year, so hopefully we can shake that off quickly.
I centered in on Breck for a couple of reasons;

• Flying to Colorado is easy and relatively cheap for most of us. That’s not the case for Utah or Jackson Hole, unfortunately.

• Our group is somewhat mixed in terms of ability. A few of us are very good skiers who will be looking for tougher terrain, but a couple of the guys will probably spend most of their time on groomed blacks and easier bowls. It’s probably been 10 years since I’ve been to Breck, but I seem to remember it having a good mix of terrain.

• I thought it would be a good après/nighttime scene. Seems to be a cool town with a lot of options. The trip is obviously about the skiing, but I’m sure there may be a drink or two involved.

• We have a mix of skiers and snowboarders. It has been a while since I’ve been there, but I seem to remember the back bowls at Vail requiring a lot of traversing and it being tough on snowboarders (please correct me if I’m wrong).

I think we’re locked into Colorado (and Denver) based on the flight availability, but I’m open to other resorts. I’ve skied Vail and Breck a few times each, but it’s been awhile. Most of the guys on this trip haven’t been to either (and I have no problem going back). Our general desires are lots of skiable terrain that supports a variety of ski levels (from groomed black level skiers to better), a good night scene, and proximity from Denver. We’re not too caught up on price.
Thanks again for the feedback!

I think Breck will fulfill quite well the requirements you have described. Breck has added peaks 6 and 7 and easier access to the high bowls since your last visit and increased the number of high speed chairs.

What are you dates?

Thanks fmpden. We'll be there the last few days of February.

That is a decent time. It is just ahead of spring breaks. Each day into March adds to the crush as spring skiing swings into full gear.
