Gulf Shores Alabama

We're considering a family spring vacation, mid-April at The Beach Resort, Gulf Shores, AL. Two children 15 & 12. Any advice from people that have vacationed there (or nearby) is appreciated. What's the weather like down there in mid-April? Thanks.

Hi -- We vacationed in Gulf Shores in 2002. We stayed at the Holiday Inn, which was just right for our family. Gulf Shores is wonderful; we want to go back. Beautiful beach, and less traffic than Destin area. Have a great time!

I am assuming you are considering the Perdido Beach Resort, which was originally built as a Hilton. Very nice place and well located. Their beach is excellent and there is shopping and restaurants nearby. Weather should be great at that time of year. Come on down!

Warm days, cool nights, water temps will be cool to cold still, that is still Spring breakers time, but not in that area. Kids may enjoy Lambert's Cafe, home of the thrown rolls, in Foley. We ferried over to the old fort and spent the day. Also enjoyed the USS Alabama, a WW2 battle ship and USS Drum a WW2 submarine you can board and explore. Please post a trip report whenyou return.
