Gulf coast florida

I will be traveling to the clearwater beach area in March. We have 2 kids 12,9 (boys)can anyone give me some insight on activities in the area? Also has anyone heard of or stayed at Chart House Suites in Cl. Beach? Thanks Doug.

Sorry, have not heard of those accomodations, but then, I am not an expert. I have recommeded Crabby Bills for lunch or dinner before on this site. There were lots of families there when we were there. The food was good and prices reasonable. They are located on the circle at the marina, across from pier, I think 66, the kids would love to walk the pier.

Clearwater Beach is VERY close to Tampa - when we stayed there, we went to Busch Gardens. It's a combination theme park with rides/animal habitat/Busch brewery tour - very enjoyable for the whole family. Orlando is also do-able, if you get up early & make a whole day of it - maybe an hour/and half drive. Tampa also has baseball Spring training on that time of year (forget which team)- check Tampa area for activities.

the kids might like fort desoto on mullet key just south of st. pete bch.....its an old spanish american war type fort w/ cannons etc.....

also, the aquarium in tampa area and calladesi island (??)off of honeymoon island..... you have to take a ferry to the island.
