Great site for directions--rail, bus, walking--however currently limited areas..

Since I travel "solo" a lot, I have a fear of forgetting or losing directions. a friend told me about www.hotspot.com..
I am sure a lot of you already know about this--but it has been very useful to me..Hopefully even more in the future as they plan to expand to more cities.
I typed in Islip NY and destination- Grand Cental Sta..
A former resident of Long Island told me it was very accurate as she had traveled that route many times..
Now if I could just find a way for my hisband to get me to Oakland airport without getting lost??? -just kidding...

I found this site recently and agree - it is SO helpful in planning our upcoming New York trip.

traveler24, that URL redirects to a Sun Java site (uber-techie!). Is that the correct address?

Hi Friend,

I have also found a site that says that travel guide is now available in MP3 format. This is good news for backpacker when it comes to reducing weight. Since everybody is using MP3 player now, having a audio Travel Guide would definitely beats carrying a 500-page book. Check it out at

Oh, I was hoping it might be a new site I hadn't heard of before! Hopstop has been here in NYC for quite a while, and gets a lot of use/plugs on the Fodors boards already...
