Great Eats near Harvard

Looking for good places to eat lunch and dinner during the week...attending a seminar at Harvard. Will be staying at the Charles.

Not an expert on dining in Cambridge by any stretch of the imagination but I can tell you that the Charles has two restaurants that are well respected - Rialto and Henrietta's Table. I've only been to the bar at Rialto and they mix a good martini. The S&S deli in Cambridge is also very good but not particularly close to Harvard Sq. I also like Temple Bar on Mass Ave, closer to Porter Sq than Harvard Sq.

Herrell's Ice Cream, Toscanini's Ice Cream, Christina's Ice Cream and J.P.Licks! Boston is all about the ICE CREAM!

Thanks for info on the eats at the Charles....looks like the places there are good which is not always true about hotel food. Will try for dinner. Looking for quick lunch spots also.

We are from Mississippi and ice cream is a main stay of our diet in the summer so thanks for the scoop on the ice cream places.

My favorite, Lizzy's Ice Cream, has opened up in Cambridge, it is 29 Church Street.

There is non place to sit.

Cambridge One (right next to Lizzy's) serves very good thin crust pizza. It is the kind of PIzza you can eat on a hot day and not feel too full. It gets crowded early in the evening.
