GrandTeton/Yellowstone Itinerary Opinions Please
We're flying into SLC for 9 days in June. Since we'll land before noon, we opted to drive to Jackson for the first three nights. I booked the first night at a cheaper hotel since we'll be getting in late (after stopping to site see along the way), then two nights at Budges' Sliding Lake Cabins. (Good or bad?)
I then booked three nights in Cooke City for a suite/cabin at the Antler Lodge. (Good or bad?) I enjoy cooking, so we wanted a kitchen available to prepare meals and picnics and they were the only one I found that had availablity. We wanted to see the north part of the park while we were there and do the beartooth pass drive as well.
I then have us moving to the Best Western Desert Inn in West Yellowstone for two nights before heading back into SLC the night before we fly out.
We intend on taking at least one day to go rafting or canoeing and would like to get in some fishing if possible as well as see the sites of the parks and do some hiking.
I'm now wondering if I should have allowed a fourth night in the Jackson area to spend another day at Teton or not.
I was a bit disappointed as I was hoping to find a nice secluded cabin w/ a fireplace and hot tub to spend at least one night in since we're going during our anniversary, but I wasn't successful in finding such a thing.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Cooke City for three nights would be to many for me. You are out side the park and really far from most of the well know attractions in the park. The Beartooth Highway is well worth the time, but you don't need three nights for that. I would move one or two of those nights to West Yellowstone. West Yellowstone is the most centrally located area to see the major attractions in Yellowstone if you are lodging outside the park. BTW, Yellowstone is a large park and it takes time to get from one section to the other. Roads are slow and there can be wild life traffic jams.

While in the Grand Tetons, be sure to drive up Signal Mountain; also don't miss the hike to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point at Jenny Lake - these made our "top 10" list for that trip.
Also be prepared for any kind of weather - we went mid-June and arrived in mid 80 degree weather and within a week were ensconced by the heaters at lake Yellowstone watching it snow hard enough to close the schools back home in SC!
