For starters, check out both
www.nps.gov/grte
and
www.grand.teton.national-park.com
Take a hike around Jenny Lake, and then up Hidden Canyon. View the Tetons at daybreak, when the lakes reflect the mountains, and wildlife is most easily seen. Enjoy a float trip at dusk.

Once you get there, you'll soon realize that you don't need a list of things to do in the Grand Tetons. Soak in the sheer beauty of the place. I don't mean to sound esoteric, but you'll immediately know what I mean when you get then. Take Paul's wonderful group of suggestions and you'll find plenty to do to enjoy the site.

Lorie, our family vacationed for a few days in the Tetons last year and had a wonderful time. We went for a short three days following Yellowstone, and it was not nearly enough time. While we were there we took a horseback ride with an outfitter called Wilderness Adventures. We booked the same day, and all the other places were booked solid. We were referred to Wilderness Adventures and were extremely pleased with our experience. They're well off the beaten track so not as busy as other outfitters. As a matter of fact, our family of four were the only people on this ride, which was a bonus for us. Instead of the usual nose-to-tail guided ride, our guide took us all over some beautiful country and had us trotting and running several times (I thought I was going to fall off!) Our kids just loved it (12 and 13), and our wrangler was phenomenal. Very informative and fun.
We also went rafting with Sands. While it's in Jackson, it took maybe 45 minutes to get there (not quite sure about that). But it was fun. We went in July, so it wasn't as high and fast as other times, but we were going through level III and IV rapids. We booked that a day in advance with no problem. And it was absolutely gorgeous. Again we had a wonderful, knowledgeable guide and everyone had a great time.
Have a great time.

Lorie,
This will be the trip of a lifetime!
1. Book now for a float ride on the Snake River by calling the Jackson Lake Lodge. Don't worry, there are no rapids. My Grandmother took the trip with us and loved it. Great scenery, peaceful float ride, and wildlife. Take the early morning ride for best chance of seeing wildlife and bring a warm coat as it could be 32 on the river in the AM.
2. Take the a ride up the tram in Jackson Hole. The views are wonderful! You can hike down from there if you wish.
3. Take a day trip to Yellowstone. I would start early and plan to take the entire day. You would be surprised how much you can see. Old Faithful geyser basin and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone are 2 of the highlights not to be missed.
4. Hidden Falls trail was mentioned above. Great easy trail to the falls and a little more strenuous beyond the falls, but great views. There will be plenty of visitors at the falls and at the overview just about the falls. Beyond the overview the visitors slack off and you can hike somewhat in quite surroundings below the Grand Teton.
