Grand Hyatt New York Hotel

Has anyone stayed at this hotel?( Grand Hyatt near Grand Central Terminal) My only concern is the noise level being next door to Grand Central Terminal. If so what part of the hotel would it be the quietest? Have received a price of $155.00 per night Nov.29-Dec.3 which is quite good for this area.
Thanks for your reply.

YOu don't have to worry a bit about noise. You won't hear a thing from the train station. $155 is a good price for that hotel. It's also in a fairly convenient location, walkable to the midtown sights and adjacent to the subway station in Grand Central.

You will not even know you're right by Grand Central (Train wise)...Note that the Hyatt is a "convention Center" and is constantly bustling with people. If you're in search of a quiet getaway...I would not recommend staying there...I must say the rate you have is a good one!

This doesn't really have anything to do with your question, but for anyone out there staying at the Grand Hyatt during October, this is where the visiting team (Arizona or Atlanta) will be staying during the World Series, so if you think you recognize someone sitting at the bar you'd probably be right. It's great fun hanging out there after a game.

We stayed there during the same week last year. It's a good rate; the hotel is wonderfully located and you won't notice GC Station except by going there for a train, a meal, or some shopping.

That said, we had a terrible time checking into the hotel - we and a couple of dozen other guests were made to wait several hours for our rooms (7-11 PM) despite confirmed reservations; several parties missed theater or dinner bookings. We were comped precisely one drink for the delay ("rooms weren't ready" - at 8 PM??) and our no-smoking room was anything but; the front desk people were clueless and eventually snotty...definitely not Hyatt standard. So when you arrive, our suggestion is to put up an immediate stink if you're not whisked to your room, because the wait might be longer than they say.
