grand-canyon-2 days
dear grand canyon experts:
a couple of friends and i will be out near the grand canyon in mid-june and i wanted to seek your advice on how best to utilize our time. we are considering the following options:
1) spend both days on the north side. this would included primarily doing some day hiking around north rim and driving around.
2) spend a majority of our time driving and try to see both north and south rims. we would spend most of our time in the car with maybe time for a 4-hour hike one day.
please advise on which of the options you would choose for the two-day excursion. like i said, we’d prefer to spend less time in the car and get to hike, but if the scenery is way better on the south side and shouldn’t be missed then option 2 is the way to go.

Here's one strong vote for option #1. I won't debate which is the better view. Both are spectacular! So, why not spend most of your time in the national park rather than driving so much? One advantage of the North Rim is that it is much less crowded.
A couple questions:
Do you have reservations? It may be to late to get into the lodge at the North Rim.
What do you mean by "driving around" the North Rim? There's a pleasant 40-mile drive from Jacob Lake south through the forest to get to the North Rim. Then, you're at the park!
