My husband and I will be going to Edisto Island, SC. I have seen opportunities for scuba listed in various places but no mention of snorkeling. I assume we can snorkel from any beach, but wonder if there are any boat trips to take you farther out where things can be seen without actually diving. Does anyone have any info about this? Thanks in advance.

Edisto isn't big on snorkeling because the best visibility is only going to be around 10 feet tops.

You have to go a ways offshore to get to any of the wrecks.

Thanks for the info. We're driving so it won't be a big deal if we take our gear and don't use it. Not like lugging it on a plane.

You can't really see anything right off the beach unless you are near a pier.

There is so much sediment in our water it makes visibility low. You'll enjoy Edtisto Island. Bring cards, games and books. It is very laid back.
