good baseball seats?

I am trying to get good baseball seats that are also likely to be in the shade at Busch Stadium in St Louis and Kaufmann Stadium in Kansas City. Does anyone know which sections are covered in either stadium?

Also, I will be in Comerica in Detroit and Great American Ball Park in Cinn for night games --any thoughts on the best place to sit?

All else being equal, we would like to be close to good beer and good food.

thanks!

At Kauffman stadium, you want the last few rows of the lower level (sections 100-138), or any seat in the middle level (200-234) but there are few seats on that level and most are season tickets.

The last rows of the lower level are closest to the food and drink stands and restrooms.

You might post your question again with "St Louis" in the title, so people in that city will know to look at your post.

For Cincy I would scalp. They aren't drawing very well right now & last game I went to we sat right at the end of the dug-out/3rd base coaches box for $20/each. They also have a decent restaurant upstairs down the left field line. Newport on the Levee would be a good place to stay & there is a Haufbrau Haus there (related to the real one in Munich). For the Ohio side try McFaddens on 7th St. Also pretty good food & a nice place to hang-out.

The best place to sit in a ballpark is behind the home team dugout.

Thanks for the good info on KC and Cinn. (Mrwunfrl -- I have been to almost all MLB parks, except for the ones I am attending in Sept and generally agree with your seat preference, but I am trying to avoid the sun in KC and St. Louis and therefore cannot be behind the dugout. And those seats are often sold out in good parks anyway).

Thanks again.

We just went to see the Cards and sat in the Casino Queen party porch area. (CQ3) It was covered and they were very good seats! You can also go to the Cards website and view seats from any location!http://stlouis.cardinals.mlb.com/stl...ng_pricing.jsp

I might have explained further. By "behind the dugout" I mean any section at field level, or second level, or even on top (because there is usually an overhang). Reason is that the home team is going to choose the best side for their dugout. The home team's dugout is going to come under shade sooner than the visitors' dugout. If the sun reaches under a stadium tier it is going to do it on the visitors' side more than the home team's side.

Just a suggestion - go to the stadium (or have someone go for you) and purchase your tickets in person. I went to Dodger stadium recently in search of 6 tickets for my family on Father's Day weekend. I found the nicest ticket agent I have ever encountered..when I explained my father was turning 92 and we wanted to take him to a game for his birthday this fellow bent over backwards to find a seat in the shade. While not everyone can claim such a story, it was well worth my time to drive to the stadium. The tickets are behind home plate, fourth level up. I tried to purchase the exact same seats on line and could not, so I wonder if buying them in-person works better?

Thanks everyone. Good thought, mrwunrfl about the shade coming first on the home team side --had not thought of that! The Casino Queen porch sounds perfect, jasper911. I will let folks know how things turn out.

If you get seats in the upper levels (400 level) behind home plate, infield terrace reserved, you will be under the roof. This area faces east/north east so the sun is never on you.
