Golf and Beach/West or Hawaii
Our daughter and her husband would like to take a vacation either out west or Hawaii with us this June. The only comments that we heard from all four of us was the men would like golf, my daughter and I would like beach and some nices places to visit or see in the evening. They both just became debt-free, so they'd like to stay under $1500 for the week. Is this possible and any good suggestions? Thanks. Beth

San Diego might work out well. Torrey Pines and all that.
If it could be pool instead of beach, Palm Springs/Desert is affordable in June. No shortage of golf, and the weather might not be TOO hot. Lots of nice restaurants and shopping --Cabazon outlets are about 1/2 hour away.

HI..
I live in San Diego and I would not suggest SD for June..could be the classic June gloom at the beach and that is never fun...
I think Palm Springs/PalmDesert/Indian Wells would be perfect!
You can stay at a 5 star for around $150 a night or less and golf will be alot cheaper too..
I don't where you are coming from but I went on Expedia and to do the whole hotel/flight and car and see what pops up..Also, you can do side trips to San Diego for the day..takes about 2 hours..
We are staying at the Desert Springs Resort by Marriott..5 star for 3nights in June for under $130 a night..
There are some great golf courses in Palm Desert and restaurants and shopping too..it will be hot but not humid..
I wish you could do Hawaii for $1,500 for 2..
I love playing golf in the desert.. La Quinta is old school and we love playing there and in the summer months rates go way, way down...
Have fun!

Early tee times are good, like by 7am so you are done before noon. But occasionally you will get a nice cool week in early June. (That means under 90). Especially with the late winter we are having, you may get lucky. Anytime a storm blows thru Southern CA it will drop a good 10-20 degrees.

HI..
I like to eat breakfast at the LQ Clubhouse around 8am and finish around 8:30ish and it takes a good 4 hours..
Here is the average temp in PS for mid June..Bring lots of water and grab a beer on the back nine..
Temperature
Mean Temperature 87 °F / 30 °C
Max Temperature 105 °F / 40 °C 116 °F / 46 °C (1961)
Min Temperature 70 °F / 21 °C 48 °F / 8 °C (1953)

Have to agree with the others doing Hawaii unless the 1500 doesn't include air and hotel. There's still plenty to do in the SD area and Palm Springs is close enough if you catch a break in the weather. Plus the drive up to Idyllwild or Big Bear should be good in June.
