Going to New Orleans

Going to the big easy in 3 weeks (somebody named Katrina cancelled my reservation last year). I sure don't see posts about N.O. like before. I hope people are going back. Here are the resturants I'm thinking of going to--Dick & Jenny's, Jacques-Imos, Nola, Acme, Galatoire's, & Johnny's Po Boys. Are any of these open on Sunday? Or Monday? I am not sure if their web sites are accurate cause I know alot of places are scaled back. Also, where is everybody's favorite bloody mary?

Try http://www.nola.com/dining/ for more information. It even includes a post-Katrina top ten list and gives dates for reopenings of some. Also, I think most of those restaurants you listed, and others, have been discussed here a lot lately. Have you done a Louisiana search and read those threads?

One place that we love that is not yet open is Commander's Palace. The rest of our favorites, like Jacques-Imos, August, Bayona's, etc., have reopened.

Also, most all of the restaurant websites we've searched state on the home page whether or not they have reopened - you might want to phone if it is not clearly notated.

Galatoire's is open on Sunday nights, or at least it was in January, when we had an excellent dinner there.

About three weeks ago, we had lunch at Galatoire's on Saturday, and dinner at NOLA.

On Sunday morning, we had brunch at Ralph's on the Park.

As for the Bloody Marys--I think I have to say we preferred those at Ralph's over Galatoire's. Ralph's were spicier, which we like.

We were happy to see that the Acme is open again. It was still closed in January when we were there. Brennan's on Royal Street is open, too.

Have a great trip!

Byrd
