Going to Las Vegas - what to see and do?

This will be my 2nd trip to Vegas (I went about 4 yrs. ago) and I sort of know what to expect....however, I'm looking for ideas on what to see and do. I'm staying at the Mandelay Bay (want to enjoy some pool time - will be there in April). I have already bought tickets to Cirque de Soliel. I will be visiting the new hotels since I've been there last...Bellagio, Venitian, NYNY. What other things do you think are a must? Thanks for your input.

My best experience in Las Vegas was the Hard Hat Tour of Hoover Dam! If the weather is nice the drive out is very scenic and the whole day was one of the most romantic! My husband enjoyed the tour but to my surprise I did too!!!

Also, try the Pink Taco at Hard Rock Hotel for some great Mexican food!!! There is a very good lounge act at the Luxor every night as well. You will be able to take the tram from your hotel to the Luxor. Have fun!!!

Which Cirque de Soleil are you seeing--Mystere or O? I'd really get downtown and see the fun but tacky Fremont Street Experience some evening.

I bought tickets for O. After a little research, I understand that it's worth the extra money.

Good choice--seeing O! See my more detailed comparison of O and Mystere posted about 10 days ago.

I just got back from Las Vegas on 3/25. This was my third trip in 3 years. The Hoover Dam Hard Hat Tour was great, but I would advise you to make reservations in advice otherwise you may wait hours for the next available. "Forever Plaid" at the Flamingo Hilton is a definite must see. My husband and I have seen it twice. This musical was originally on off-Broadway and is great.
I would also recommend seeing Seigfried and Roy at the Mirage. Rumor has it that they are breaking up, so you may not have another chance. It is well worth the money.
If you can get out to Valley of Fire or Red Rock Canyon, do so. We're not "out door" people, but we loved the scenery.
Whatever you do, have a great time! I'm already planning my next trip.

Mandelay Bay! Good choice! We just got back from four wonderful days in LV ... stayed at Luxor ... and wished we had access to the wonderful pools at MB .... especially Lazy River and the beach with the BIG simulated waves. For food, The Border Grill at MB is a must (gourmet Mexican) the best lunch of our stay. MGM has what may be the two best restaurants in town: Coyote Cafe Grill (SW native American) & Emeril's (New Orleans seafood ...the gumbos are authentic & terrific). MGM may be the ugliest & nosiest hotel in LV, but both these restaurants are quiet & pretty (espeically Coyote grill). This was our first trip to LV and for us the highlights were: NYNY, PARIS, BELLAGIO (don't miss the gorgeous glass flower ceiling in lobby), MANDELAY BAY, VENETIAN (most fun of all . .. strolling opera singers, gondolas ... we could have easily spent the entire day here). Have fun; wish we were back there now.
