GoTravel - a few weeks ago I read your trip report to Charleston. You rated all of the hotels and noted shopping/ restaurants. I've been searching and can't find the report - please let me know where it was. We are looking for hotels in Charleston and you had some great suggestions. Thanks!

I had that link bookmarked b/c I had used her report to help me plan a too brief of a visit to Charleston - we stayed in lodging chosen by a company holding a meeting, but here is also my link about that hotel if any info in that would help you, but had I been planning solely a vacation, I would have chosen one of the more 'charming' hotels GoT mentioned, but you can look at it if you want to - mentions some of the things I did and other things I was sorry to not have time for -

I'm topping this up, so folks can use this valuable thread. Just came back from Charleston. My husband thinks I'm a genius because we booked the Doubletree. It was a great location. He liked Magnolia's for supper and liked that it was a short walk. Thanks for the great suggestions GoTravel.

Next time, we will stay at the Doubletree and try SNOB.
