Eddy - yep, you're correct. I've tried at least 5 times to "review" the same restaurant, but apparently leaving a 1 rating for food doesn't work. I keep getting a notice saying something to the effect that a ** rating won't work. It's a mystery to me! I might add that all my "raves" of other restaurants have been accepted.

I've contributed, but I've mixed feelings about it. The idea is good, but based on some of the initial postings, I'm not sure how helpful it will be. At least with food/restaurant critics, you assume a certain level of expertise.
Besides, my favorite NYC restaurant (Chez Josephine) isn't included!!

The previous poster brings up another glitch regarding the rants and raves section. In Key West, the two hotels that are most widely considered the best aren't included (the Ocean Key House and the Hyatt). Nor is the Hilton, which does NOT get good reviews, or its sister property the Hilton Sunset Key cottages, which is so highly thought of that Oprah Winfrey threw herself a birthday party there. Maybe Fodors could supply an outlet for us to add lodging and restaurants not included in their own reviews. Or perhaps that's what THIS forum is for!

IMHO the Rants & Raves feature is VERY lame. Of course it's being ignored. Far more useful and usable would be a feature where YOU fill in the name of the establishment and your comments. Having the places pre-listed is very off-putting, esp. since it implies that these places already have a history with Fodor's, so our information is just refining what Fodor's already knows and, frankly, doing some of their updating research for free.

Could be they are trying to duplicate the way you can add your review to those available on "wheretostay.com" That site covers the Caribbean. I've done a couple at the new R&R, but been dismayed that you can't add any that aren't "officially" reviewed.

Hi, I normally stay away from these "general" threads. However I have tried to do my duty and posted one good restaurant report, and I agree that we need Forum R&R Version 2.0 where we can add out own places that are not pre-listed by Fodor's. Heck, they are missing my entire favorite *island* - Kauai. For Hawaii you can only post reviews for Honolulu and Maui.
