We are driving ultimately to Tucson AZ but stopping to see friends in Georgetown, our previous stop having been Selma, AL. We’re taking our time ; leaving Selma early afternoon on a Thursday, meeting in Georgetown Saturday dinner.

Google maps sends us around Dallas or Houston, both of which we’d like to avoid due to traffic. We can see other roads on the map but would like advice from someone familiar with options .
