I think Grand Master Flash might be available depend on which day of the week you get married. Maybe you can bring some sheets of cardboard so everyone can breakdance. I think he caters catfish, too.

Hi Kimberly -

Try sites like www.theknot.com or www.weddingchannel.com to find Southern reception/wedding venues and vendors -- and then come back here for help planning the honeymoon!

Check out this message board: www.delphi.com/atlantabrides or check out www.accessatlanta.com (look for wedding info) for help with an Atlanta wedding and reception. We had ours at a place called Primrose Cottage in Roswell (just north of Atlanta). It is owned by a company called Magic Moments, with a full service caterer, florist, cake bakery, etc. You could look in to that since you might be planning this from somewhere else: www.primrosecottage.com, www.flinthill.com

The rude people in Georgia are mostly the northerners who moved here to find a nicer place to live.

The best website I have found is www.ultimatewedding.com. Their message boards are even more active than Fodor's if you can believe it. They have regional messeage boards as well. After you get some location ideas from there, I would come back to Fodors and ask the nice posters here about these locations. I recently saw a thread on Ultimate wedding discussing renting out an entire inn on the Outer Banks and having a beach wedding and reception there. It sounded very cool but I can't remember the inn. Anyway I am sure if you found a specific inn you were interested in and posted the name on Fodors many fodorites who traveled there would comment.

Try looking at the local botanical gardens. I know the one in Athens is beautiful and they do weddings. They may be booked already, but look around at the smaller cities' gardens.
If you aren' from around here, I suggest getting a bridal consultant. They are cheaper than you think and save a lot of hassel.
