Get around strip car rental or monorail? Caesars convenient to monorail?

WIll have a car rental anyway but heard traffic moves slow. Is monorail any better? Convenient to Caesars? WHat if we are five people and use it a lot? Any way to save money?
Thanks
Ken

If I remember well monorail costs $ 3.- per per son per ride..so your car will be cheaper.
Parking is almost everywhere free in hotelparkinggarages. (not on Fremont Street).
If traffic is a problem, avoid LV Blvd, you will be fine.

The monorail is on the other side of the street, and behind the hotels, from Caesar's, so if you wanted to use it, you'd have to walk out, cross the street and go through the Flamingo. NOT convenient in my book! Ida is correct that it is $3 a ride. If your group is 5 people, a car will be MUCH better!

Actually, it's $5 per ride, with passes available. You can find more info on it at www.lvmonorail.com

The best way around the strip is, in my opinion, walking. Car rental is fine to get from one end to the other, of course, but if you want to drink, a cab would be a better option than either driving or monorail with that many people.

But Caesars is central enough to get to a lot of places by walking, unless you have people in your party who have trouble walking.

When I was there in Jan (and stayed at Caesar's) the monorail was $5 per ride or $15 for unlimited 24 hour pass.

We walked from hotel to hotel in the area of Caesar's, but did take the monorail all the way up to the Sahara and then walked over to the Stratosphere. If you want to explore different sections of the strip it might be convenient to get there and then be prepared to walk around a bit.

With 5 people though it gets expensive real quick!

Google for a map that shows the monorail stops so you can get a true sense of what your options are.

You can easily walk a mile with no effort at all on the strip - in fact in some hotels you can easily walk a mile from the sidewalk to inside anyplace (or so it seems) The monorail is totally useless for many of the hotels (Caesars for one) as it is way too far to walk to get it. Use your rental car.

This map will give you an idea of distances. Caesars Palace to Strat is closer to 2 miles, if that's what you were asking.
