German Cuisine in Fredericksburg

I'll be visiting Fredericksburg for a couple of nights in late April and look forward to sampling the German food. Can some of you familiar with the town help out with a few recommendations?

Here's the list: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura...urg_Texas.html
I did eat at the Auslander once and enjoyed the meal.
See the museum of the Pacific War.

When we go visit family in F'burg, we usually eat our German meal at Altdorf as we like the food and the outdoor seating there.

Thanks. Two vote for Altdorf, one for Auslander. Any love for Der Lindenbaum or Fredericksburg Brewing Co.?

I will definitely visit the Museum OTPW and hike Enchanted Rock. Any other suggestions?

I'm not a shopper, but there are some cool and interesting shops along Main Street. At Rustlin' Rob's, you can freely taste all their dips, sauces, jellies, etc. And Dooley's is a real "Five and Dime" like the old days. You will probably find something in each store that you'll want.

Not Auslander. While their schnitzel was pretty good.. their "German potato salad" was from a can! Awful! (And I should know- I grew up on my grandma's recipe and now my daughter is making it!)

There are lots of German restaurants in Fredericksburg. I'd peruse all the reviews and look at the pictures! Very telling about what is authentic and what is not!

Do stop in at the Fredericksburg Winery at the end of shops on Main St. Pretty good wine, especially the orange muscato if they have it in stock!
