georgian terrace/MARTA rail/vegetarian dining
My boyfriend and I are staying at the Georgian Terrace Hotel in Atlanta this weekend. We're planning on using the MARTA rail system to attend a concert Sat. night and the Braves/Mets game Sun. mid-day.
Any suggestions about MARTA, the hotel, or Atlanta in general? Also, any suggestions about vegetarian restaurants are more than welcome.

Hmm. Well, I took my vegan date to The Pleasant Pheasant and she was able to order a dish that they apparently made for her all the time. It's on Peachtree, south of the hotel, maybe... 3 or 4 blocks? The dish I had was also very good, I think it's a nice restaurant. I've heard the Georgian Terrace is very nice, although I've never been able to get a reservation for my dad there (yet).
At what venue is the concert?
I'm not sure what kind of suggestions you're looking for regarding those things you listed. Can you be a bit more specific?

Lots of vegetarians in the area so just about every restaurant will have good options.
The Pleasant Peasant that brandie mentions is very good. Can be a bit pricey, but you can't beat the food there. It's a few blocks S of the GT.
There's a good Italian restaurant 1 block N - Baraonda @ 710 Peachtree.
Little Azio's is a few blocks north - 903 Peachtree. Good food, moderate prices.
There's a new restaurant on the opposite side of the street between GT and Little Azio's with "Fresh" in the title. Good food and moderate.
There's a VERY good chinese restaurant about 5 blocks away at 824 Juniper. Mu Lan - very good food & nice atmosphere
Spice is across the street from Mu Lan at 793 Juniper (5th and Juniper). VERY nice.
And, if you want Southern style veggies, Mary Mac's Tea Room is an Atlanta institution. It's at 224 Ponce de Leon. Mary Mac's daughter is married to the guy who developed the Peasant restaurants (Pleasant Peasant) which brings us about full circle
. They've sold the Peasant restaurants to start Serenbe, but the woman who bought the Pleasant Peasant had done a good job.
Next door to the GT is the new boutique hotel, Indigo. I stopped in the lobby bar/restaurant for drinks and appetizers before a show at the Fox and we were pleased. Funky / whimsical decor.
About 4 blocks north is Starbucks if you need a fix.
MARTA is very easy to navigate and you shouldn't have any problems. Enjoy the game and concert.

For a strictly vegetarian restaurant, I really liked Cafe Sunflower located at 2140 Peachtree St. And I'm not even a Vegetarian and I'd definitely go back... the food was great.
The downside...its nowhere near a Marta station. You'd have to cab it ($15-$20).
