Gatlinburg for Thanksgiving

Hi,

My fiance and I are planning a weekend trip to Gatlinburg over the Thanksgiving holidays. Can anyone recommend a place for around $80/night in a convenient location? I've looked on the internet, but all I can find are cabins that are rented by the week.

Thanks,
Michele

Michele, I can't recommend a specific place but you have to plan many, many months in advance to get a cabin in the Smokeys during the holidays. Your only good chance for a cabin is to hopefully find a cancellation. Keep calling or emailing. Finding an opening at a hotel should be much easier - there are so many. I don't stay in hotels when I go, so I can't make any recommendations. Also for cabins, you might get lucky if you try Maggie Valley on the south side of the park. It's not as touristy. Good luck!

Michele,
You need to look at Pigeon Forge. It is the nearest town near Gatlinburg. It has a great selection of hotels. We stayed at a Hampton Inn that was great. There are lots of shows etc. We went over to Gatlinberg during the day. Have fun

Michelle,
I live in the same county as Gatlinburg - I would not go to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area during the holidys - the automobile traffic will be terrible.
Sorry for the "downer"!
